Why don’t you deliver the juice every day?
Due to our juice extraction method, we don’t have to, which means that it’s more convenient for you! After we’ve cold-pressed and bottled our juice, we use an extra measure of food safety to our juices called High Pressure Processing (HPP). This makes our juices safe to sell and consume without adding heat. HPP not only eliminates any risk of harmful bacteria but also extends the natural shelf life of our juices. When we’re using cold pressure instead of heat, we’re ensuring that the final product stays raw as nature intended, delicious and nutrient dense.
What happens if I am not home when you deliver?
Our drivers are strictly advised to never leave juice unattended. If a human being is not available to receive a delivery, we will call you. It is your responsibility to be at home within the time slot you agreed to upon ordering, and if we can’t reach you the juice will be thrown away. We do not offer refunds in such cases
Where is your production facility?
We’re proudly local! Our juices are produced in our juicing facility in Al Quoz 2.
Where do you get your produce?
We only source the best and freshest produce and work with some amazing local, organic family farms. However, growing produce in a harsh desert climate is not easy and because we buy large volumes, we have to adjust our orders according to the seasons. Whatever we cannot source locally is sourced from environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable farms in Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Why do you use cashews? I’ve heard very good things about almond milk.
Cashews are packed with Zinc, Copper and Magnesium, which are great for some very common concerns: building healthy bones, and strengthening hair, skin and nails
Will I get instructions with my order?
Of course, we send very detailed emails to everyone prior to their cleanse.
Can I work while on a cleanse? What if I have to focus on important meetings?
Don’t worry, you might feel a bit tired during the first days of your cleanse but you will not spend them in a brain fog! Just go on with your normal life and remember that your body and mind are getting a complete nourishment with our juices.
Can I exercise while on a cleanse?
Absolutely, but be a bit gentler with yourself. If you feel that you have lots of energy go for a light jog or power walk around the neighborhood. Otherwise it’s always a great idea to stick to yoga or pilates for that added effect of intense breathing to help you maximize your cleanse.
Can I add extra beverages to my day of cleansing?
You can add extra drinks if you feel you need to. Just make sure that you clearly stay away from carbonated drinks, especially soda, please! You are more than welcome to add extra doses of water with lemon and herbal teas. And if you would like to order extra juices from our site to keep on hand for emergencies, feel free to go ahead and contact us.
Can I have seltzer or sparkling water?
Seltzer will contribute gas to your system, so it’s not ideal – better stick to still water.
Can I drink Diet Coke?
Definitely NO. Try to drink water with lemon or herbal or herbal tea instead
Can I sweeten my tea?
If you feel you need this extra sweetness, please use only small amounts of agave, Stevia or Xylitol – it’s all-natural and won’t spike your blood sugar like other sweeteners.
Should I continue to take my multi-vitamins?
You are consuming about 20 lbs of freshly pressed fruits and vegetables every day, which means that this is now your “multi-vitamin.”
How do I break the cleanse?
Our “How It Works” section contains everything you need to know in order to prepare for your cleanse program and break from your cleanse, and even tips to maximize the benefits during the process.
How long can my juices last?
We us an extra measure of food safety called High Pressure Processing (HPP) for our cold-pressed products. HPP is quite a big thing in the raw and unpasteurised juice world: It’s a method of eliminating harmful bacteria from a liquid by applying cold pressure to the outside of the bottle. This means that our products are safer than ever without compromising their nutritional value. And because High Pressured juices enjoy an extended natural shelf life of between 10 and 28 days, you can enjoy Essentially much longer.
What order am I supposed to drink my juices in?
You drink 6 bottles per day and those bottles are clearly labeled from 1 through 6. You drink the first one (1) in the morning and the last one (6) at least two hours before you go to bed. Usually customers feel best when they consume their beverages approximately two hours apart. The same order is repeated for every day of the cleanse.
Does it really matter what order I drink the juices?
Yes, It does! The order in which you consume your juices directly effects how you absorb, assimilate, and digest nutrients.
How should I store my juice?
In your fridge. If you want to take your juices to work or to the gym keep them chilled with icepacks in a cooler bag.
Can I chew gum during the cleanse?
Ideally, not. Chewing gum contributes to gas in your system and “confuses” the digestive process. Through the chewing impulse your stomach is getting ready for food that isn’t coming.
I can’t get the Green Juice down… is it okay if I just skip them?
Sorry, this is a clear No Go! The Green Juice is delicious and the workhorse of each Essentially Cleanse. The chlorophyll in the Green Juice attaches to toxins and heavy metals and helps remove them from your body. It also increases your blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity by stimulating red blood cell production. Power through it; it’s got all the good stuff.
I haven’t gone to the bathroom at all, and already on day two. Is that normal?
This and the opposite are completely normal side effects of a cleanse. Reduced input means reduced output. Make sure you stay well hydrated. Why not enhance your Essentially Juice Cleanse with a Colon Hydrotherapy. If you’re up for it, there is no better time to have a colonic than now. It might sound a little bit scary, but a colonic is safe, gentle and highly effective before, during and after a cleanse.
What’s the environmental impact?
We are fully dedicated to the preservation and protection of our environment. Our bottles are the most recyclable of bottle options, PETE 1 and our cleanses are delivered in 100% recyclable paper bags. Our cooler pads are reused every day. We communicate with our clients almost exclusively via email and phone, thus minimizing the use of paper. All our pulp goes straight back to our local farmers where it is composted to create the best soil for new veggies and fruits. We will continue to strive every day to make our operations greener and environmentally friendly.
Why don’t you use glass bottles?
Plastic sucks. But as much as we loathe it, in our region, plastic is a more environmentally sound choice than glass. Why? Because it does not need to be shipped half across the world. Plastic is a more space and energy efficient way to package our juice. A single plastic bottle uses fewer resources to create, fill, ship, and distribute than a single glass bottle. This is because glass bottles weigh up to nine times more than plastic bottles. We use PETE1 plastic for the following reasons: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) doesn’t leach, and is generally considered the safest single-use plastic-bottle choice. It is the most desired plastic for recycling and of course BPA-free. It is dramatically lighter than other bottle options, which means less fuel is used to create and deliver each bottle. It’s also a better barrier to gases than other plastic, so our bottles protect our juices’ good nutrients from oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases that might affect the nutritional quality and taste. Our ultimate goal is to be 100% plastic free and we’re working hard to achieve this target.
I thought that our bodies are capable of cleansing naturally? If so, why do I need a cleanse?
It is definitely true to say that our bodies cleanse naturally and constantly. Our body is a great self-healing tool and built to combat toxins. But an imbalanced diet, irregular eating habits, a high intake of refined sugar and consume of nicotine, alcohol and caffeine put the body under too much daily strain. Hence it cannot cope alone anymore with the purification process and needs assistance. Our cleanse program is an occasional way to pause and reflect from hectic lifestyle routines- see it as a way to bring balance back into your life and get the best tune-up for your body.
Who should cleanse?
Every adult who wants to live her/his healthiest, happiest and most energized potential! We believe that every adult can benefit from a cleanse program as a regular part of their lifestyle regimen. Whether it’s to give your body a rest and heal from all the wining and dining, improve overall health and boost the immune system or just feel light and attractive with radiant skin and full of energy, Essentially is for busy working professionals, stay-at-home moms and everyone in between. Even those of you who are lactose-intolerant and/or keep a strict vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free diet can enjoy our cleanses. Children under 18 should not participate in our cleansing program but our juices are a great supplement to their developing bodies along their individual diet as they flood the system with much needed nutrients. Our yummy Cashew Milk is a fantastic source of non-animal protein for kids.
How many calories are in your juices and nutmilks?
Our beverages range from 35 to 389 calories per bottle. That being said, we don’t believe in calorie counting but we understand it is a concern for many individuals. Each bottle is labelled with complete nutrition facts.
Will I lose any weight with the cleanse?
If you do lose weight, and that was something you were looking for while cleansing, then that’s a happy side effect. It is important for us that our customers don’t see our cleanse programs as a weight reduction diet. Instead we hope to change that mentality into an understanding that our fresh-pressed beverages provide optimal nourishment and amazing energy. Nothing is wasted here, as your body knows how to assimilate all the calories in raw live foods, whereas a regular diet of 2,000 calories for example might only have about 1200 useable calories and the rest is “wasted” or stored as fat. In a nutshell, 500 calories of Essentially live juice is NOT the same 500 calories you get in a Quarterpounder with cheese!
Will I really be able to handle a cleanse?
Our cleanse programs require a level of commitment but are in no way designed to starve you. Essentially cleanses flood your body with nutrients and are created to give you a boost of energy. Believe in yourself and in us, our programs are perfectly workable with your daily schedule. If at any point you find yourself needing a bit more, please read our “During” the cleanse section for ideas and know that you can always call or email us for support. Consider your cleanse as a departure from the ways you are used to feeding yourself and in the end you will be thankful. Your great health adventure has only just begun!
What is so special about the way you make your juices?
All Essentially juices are produced with a special hydraulic press. 9 tons of pressure extracting every drop of goodness our fruits and veggies have to give. Our hydraulic press system also keeps the live enzymes intact for an extended period, which is essential to preserving nutrients and flavour. Our juice maintains more vitamins and minerals than juices from “centrifugal” juicers.
What about your longer shelf life? What is HPP?
We use an extra measure of food safety for our products. After we have cold-pressed our juices, we preserve the goodness by using High-Pressure Processing (HPP). This means that we’re placing the bottles in a tank of water that uses super-high pressure to kill bacteria but preserve nutrients. High pressure processing is the most popular measure of food safety utilized in the cold-pressed juice industry in the United States and Europe. This process will allow us to continue our mission of providing highly nutritious products, which are both safe and delicious. We never add sugar, sweeteners, fillers, or preservatives. Our products are natural and we never EVER compromise. As an industry leader, we have researched the latest technologies available that best keep our products safe without compromising great taste. In a field crowded with opinions and unqualified conjecture, we feel strongly about having actual science to support our decisions.
I want to get regular juice deliveries to my house. Is this possible?
Of course! Making our juices a regular part of your life is easy: Simply sign up for regular juices deliveries or a juice subscription and save money by buying in bulk. Choose any juices from our entire menu and receive deliveries straight to your door, multiple times a month at your convenience. Just have a look at our juice packages in our products section and select!
What about fiber? I thought this is important?
Our pressed juice has trace amounts of fiber (insulin and saccharides) but you actually don’t need fiber with a liquid diet. The purpose of fiber is to trigger digestive processes (a little like an intestinal broom) so whilst important when consuming solids, it’s not required with juice.
What about the sugar content in a raw juice diet?
If you’re producing insulin and are efficient at stabilizing blood sugar levels, you will have no problem with a reasonable amount of fresh fruit juice every day. It is simply bad science when natural occurring fruit sugar is compared to highly toxic, processed and isolated sugar in a candy bar or a similar product. But the truth is that ultra sweet fruits are dense sources of polysaccharide carbohydrates, which when digested or broken down in juice turn into glucose and other simple sugars. SMART juicing means becoming savvy about the use of fruits versus veggies in a juice. That is why our juices are usually heavily vegetable based and we mostly use low-sugar fruits such as tart apples in our recipes. But we also have some cold pressed juices with a fruit or root-vegetable dominance which have amazing health benefits such as boosting your immunity, stamina and aiding in the digestive process. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, be vigilant about limiting your sweet fruits and pure root-vegetable drinks until you normalize these conditions.
What exactly are toxins in the body?
In the first instance, toxins are bi-products of nicotine (if you’re a smoker) and alcohol (if consumed on a regular basis). The next level of toxins include chemical additives from processed food, pesticides, herbicides, antibiotic residues, chemicals found in household products and paint and bi-products from protein metabolism due to an overconsumption of animal protein. These toxins are mainly stored in fatty tissues and the liver.
When were my juices made?
Our juices are made on different days and we use an advanced tracking system to ensure the freshness of our juices. Your juices will be delivered straight to your doorstep and delivered by a chiller van. Just take them out of the bag and put them straight into your fridge once you receive them.
How often can I do a cleanse?
Many people like to cleanse whenever they start to feel seasonal health challenges. This can mean anywhere from once a month to once every three to six months. A good rule of thumb is whenever you experience any of the following: fatigue/general lack of energy, sleeplessness, anxiety/depression, digestive problems, at the first sign of a cold and of course, before and after holidays or any special events that lead to overindulging. However, we advocate making Essentially juices and drinks a part of your daily life, whether you are cleansing or not. Consuming the nutrients in our fresh-pressed drinks on a regular basis will support your system and keep your body in optimal shape, inside and out.
What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Our cleanse programs are designed for all healthy people; however, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not restrict your diet to liquids. You need a lot of extra calories and nutrients in your diet so your child can grow, especially when you are breastfeeding. But adding our juices to your regular diet while breastfeeding and/or pregnant will give you the added nourishment your body so desperately needs during that time. What if I have a health condition such as diabetes that requires prescription medication?
For diabetes, usually, regardless of the type, the answer to this is no but you should always check with your doctor first. As with any/all other health conditions that require prescription medication, if you are in doubt, please consult your doctor or a healthcare professional before beginning a cleanse program with us. They can best identify your particular needs and dietary limitations.
Can I smoke on the cleanse?

Can I cleanse while taking antibiotics?
Yes! Actually, Essentially is the perfect partner for your antibiotics. While antibiotics fight off harmful bacteria they also deplete the body’s supply of healthy bacteria. Our juices are packed with nutrients that will help your body fight off the bad and replenish the good bacteria. An extended cleanse will even help strengthen your immune system to prevent illness in the future. Be well soon!
Can I do your cleanse if I am lactose intolerant?
Absolutely! There are NO animal products in our juice.
I have a gluten allergy/intolerance. Can I do it?
Yes you can! We are gluten free, 100% raw and vegan.
I’m allergic to cashews – do you have a replacement?
Yes – we can cater to cashew allergies, just let us know and we will replace your Cashew Milk with another Green Juice. But please be aware that it is all made in the same kitchen.
Shouldn’t I have fiber? Should I take fiber supplements?
Fiber is great for moving things through your system, but the fiber separation requires an energy expenditure from your body that is significant. During a cleanse, the aim is to reduce this burden as much as possible so that your body and digestive tract take a break from having to break down solid food. The saved energy can then be transferred to cleansing processes. When you save energy in one department you can expend it somewhere else.
Where do I get my protein?
There are so many fantastic sources of protein other than protein that comes from animals. With Essentially, you will receive protein from our Green Juice and our Cashew Nut Milk. The Cashew Nut Milk is the more obvious source of protein, but also living plant foods are a great source of protein.
Can I do this if I am on blood thinners?
The answer to this question is almost always no because of the amount of greens in our juice, but as always, check with your doctor before you start any program.
What if I have Candida or try to avoid even fruit sugar?
We recommend our Transformation Cleanse, as it has the lowest sugar content of all the Cleanses. The only fruit juice in our Pro Cleanse is from apples and it is always combined with green juice.
What should I do if my urine or stool is red?
No panic. It’s probably because you just drank our beet juice
What are the benefits of the green juices vs. the fruit juices?
The main benefit of green juice is its alkalizing effect. Green juices contain high levels of chlorophyll, a powerful phytonutrient which attaches to toxins and heavy metals and helps remove them from your body. It also increases your blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity by stimulating red blood cell production. The chlorophyll in green plants, leaves, stems, and grasses give the body all it needs to make healthy blood. This is the first step in creating a healthy body. Fruit juices are more astringent and purge toxins from the blood. Essentially the fruit digs it up and the green moves it out.
So what level should I do? What do you recommend?
Is this your first cleanse? Then our REVITALISATION Cleanse might be right for you. It is not only super gentle on the system but also very tasty and hence the easiest plan to stick to. Do you want to dig a bit deeper, have you cleansed before and/or already like our green juice? Then try our EXTENSION Cleanse for advanced results and lose some serious baggage in the process. Do you love green juice and want to have the maximum cleansing experience? Then go for our TRANSFORMATION cleanse, the most intense level of Essentially Cleanses. Heavily vegetable based for maximum results. Transformation takes you deeper; it digs down to a cellular level, and leaves you feeling brand new.
Should I do a 3-day cleanse or a 5-day cleanse?
This depends on what you would like to get out of the cleanse program. Cleansing for 5 days is a deeper, more intense experience than cleansing for 3 days. Two extra days, that’s 60% more cleanse time. You reap more benefits the longer you cleanse. Certain substances take longer to leave you system than others, i.e. caffeine does not take as long as dairy, and dairy does not take as long as protein. You always want to plan your cleanse for a period of time where you have some flexibility in your schedule and can make your body your top priority. Of course, you can always customize the program to last even longer than 5 days if you so desire. Listen to your body.
Will a one-day cleanse do anything?
Of course it will! How do you feel after you have taken a day off work? The benefits of a one-day cleanse, once a week are immense! It is a great strategy to strengthen the immune system, sharpen mental clarity, and allow the body to “catch up.” After only one day of stopping solid food intake, enzymes stop visiting your stomach and instead travel into the bloodstream and intestines, where they get busy attacking all sorts of old waste matter, damaged cells, and pollutants. A one-day cleanse is also a great tool to balance out any overindulgence quickly and effectively if you feel that last nights opulent dinner was not very waistline-friendly. We offer for our customers a weekly 1-day cleanse program as a perfect post-cleanse contingency.
Why are some days hidden in the calendar when I do the ordering?

How do I claim a Gift Card?
You will see a Apply Gift Card text field where you can insert and apply Gift Card voucher both on your shopping cart or at checkout. Simply plug in your Gift Voucher and Apply to redeem it.
I haven’t used up my gift voucher completely. What do I do?
You can always re-use your gift card if you have not exhausted your voucher. Signed up users can go to ‘my account’ and apply the gift-voucher to their account if they choose to use it over time.
I ordered a gift card but the recipient has not received the voucher.
